Bait keepers

Featured Replies

What is your opinion on the "Harmony bait keeper " straps? I have used small swivels the same way to keep the soft plastic from slipping down the hook. Do you believe they interfere with the hook set like a pegged bullet weight might? I missed a few hook sets with the harmony. I couldn't tell if it was operator error, tail biters, or the strap.

I make my own straps with a piece of bicycle inner tube . I didnt know something similar was being manufactured . I liked the swivels better than the inner tube straps . The Harmony straps might be an improvement .

Have you ever experienced any interference on the hook set because of the strap (inner tube)?

None at all . Hooksets are better because the bait never slides down the shank .

parasite clips work the same way and they also make a bullet weight that has a clip on it . Check those out .

Eventually ended up trying these out. Doubt I'd go back to anything but a CPS hook, but that doesn't fit quite right on a t-rig. Tried the baitkeepers, all of it seemed too fiddly to me.

[Mustad Grip-Pin]

I bought some of these ryugi keepers to try too,  but haven't gotten around to trying because the grip pins are working really well for me. Might use these on spinnerbaits with no keeper.
