SLX MGL JDM vs USDM

Featured Replies

Can anyone confirm the line capacities of these two?  I'm seeing 70 yds of 14lb for the US version and 90 yds of 14 for the JDM version.

I used to have SLX MGL JDM when it first came out. I don’t remember if it has more line capacity than Curado 70 which I have 4.

It might be because japan convert line diameter of 0.285mm/100m to lb where most of JDM line (~12lb) are smaller diameter when compare to US line (~8lb)

I found here a video that confirm line capacity from SLX MGL JDM and Curado 70.

Thanks for the vid.  Did you not like the SLX?  I've been considering picking up a couple strictly for flipping and pitching.  The size and frame look like they'd fit my hands pretty good.

Actually I like that reel quite a lot, I think I traded that for spinning reel when I first got back into spinning. You gonna like the reel for pitching. I still take out my SLX pitching around trees and brushes from time to time. I had too many reels in the size (line capacity), and all my 70s can do pretty much every thing I need.

I have the JDM version and I love it. I use it for pitching 1/2 texas rigs and it is a sweet lil reel.

That’s exactly what I wanted them for so this is good to hear!
