I have a pelican Catch 100 Pwr with a 55-pound thrust trolling motor with a 24 inch shaft with my age fishing longer than a couple hours is hard on the knees I just picked up a bass raider 10 E .    I see from reading some of the post a 30-inch shaft is what most use. Does anyone use a 24inch shaft? The pound still has 10inches of ice on it so i can't try it out I am hoping i don't need to buy another trolling motor.  What do experts think?            

The Bass raider 10e crowd actually recommends a 36" shaft from what I've found and 55lb thrust trolling motor. 

 

Don’t know your skill sets, it isn’t too difficult to lengthen a TM shaft. Your local TM repair shop can do this for you at the cost of the 36” shaft and re wiring.

Agreed.  Replacing the shaft isn't too difficult.  It might take a good afternoon, and maybe about $50-75 in parts.  There are videos online of how to do it to give you an idea.
