Does anyone use one? I’ma kayak fishermen and mostly interested in depth, water temp, soft or hard bottom. Not interested in getting a traditional fish Finder for my kayak and this looks interesting. Thank you.

I was told that the Chirp feature is primarily for deep water fishing.  Like 100 feet.

I have a deeper. It has worked well for me in a kayak and will do what you want. I bought the mounting arm for it and that worked well too. The biggest problem is in shallow water. If you go in water less that 4 feet deep it has to be reset.

I have one, I recommend if you're gonna use it get a spare phone to pair it with as it will kill your battery (and potentially overheat your phone as well). Recently bit the bullet and bought a Garmin Striker 4cv and can already tell I'm going to like it much better, having a dedicated power source and display. 

Why not a Striker 4, simple and hard to beat for a little over $100.

I have one that I used when I was mostly casting it. Upgraded to a mounted helix with sidescan, and won't look back. 

If you were on the bank the deeper is an A+.

 

From a kayak, I'd strongly recommend something mounted, you can get there at the same price. The iphone screen is really hard to see with sunglasses on, and by the time you get the deeper, the kayak mount, a phone mount, etc etc you'd be in for roughly the same money.
