Cornell did a study on Oneida lake bass to see how accurate a no kill method of aging was compared to a method requiring them to be killed. The data from that study was used to determine that bass in Oneida lake in New York take about 10 years to reach 18 inches.

My favorite is Dorfman Pacific Men's Supplex Big Brim Mesh Side Hat. I bought mine at my local Tractor Supply Company.

I go with metal frames with the two little pieces of plastic that rest on your nose. You get light leakage through the sides but it mostly solves the fogging problem.

Senkos work well too.

Around here we didn't seem to have them until about 20 years ago. Before that me and my dogs could run around in swamps all day and not have any problems. Now there are ticks in every suburban yard. Seresto collars worked good for the dogs. One per year.

That's exactly what I do with jigs, vibrating jigs and spinnerbaits. They're all assembled but I put the skirts on on the water if needed. The jigs are in one box and the spinnerbaits in another and the skirts in a bag and separated by color. I can't tell red from green so they need to be marked.

If you're making your own you can cut them however you want.

I'm another one who uses skirt bands instead of tying. I lose the jigs before the bands go bad. I don't make pretty skirts though. I mostly use just solid black or white.

This is the style I use. Usually with some super glue but it works ok without it. Maybe if you super glue the toad on yours it would hold up better?

I like power tubes. The thin walls seem to make for good hook penetration. I use EWG hooks.

I like wp's but have the same grass problem. It seems like I'm always downwind of a weed control harvester. I'll have to try a tiny torpedo.

I use Eagle Claw 8 pound test microleaders.

I've used steel bullet weights and they work fine. No lead in NY. I haven't tried split shots but it's a weight so it should work.

I think turtles and ducks are early warning systems for bass. Those laydowns always seem to be less productive.

When I drop shot 5" flukes I usually spine thread them on a 3/0 offset round bend worm hook. I use the offset hook because I'll switch between the fluke and a weedless rigged trick worm and I prefer the offset for that. The 3/0 ewg hook should work just fine with the fluke. It would definitely work well with a trick worm too.

I've heard of it but never tried it. There's a guide in Arizona that I sometimes watch on Youtube and that's what he does. I mean the bobber stop technique.

Looks like he's a straight braid guy. No leader.

I had to go spinning only. I can still cast with a spinning reel with my right hand but then I have to switch to my left holding the rod and then reel with my right. I think I was 58 too the year I had to make that change. That was 7 years ago and the pain is still manageable with spinning gear. I fish about 20 hours a week from May to October.
