Favorite flipping tubes now days

Featured Replies

I like power tubes. The thin walls seem to make for good hook penetration. I use EWG hooks.

I havent tried the Power tubes but am interested. I've been using Zman EZ tubez. They get bit and one tube will catch bunches of bass . I think I caught thirty bass with one before having to replace it. I use a parasite clip to keep them from balling up.

I still have a few but it use to be the Venom Big Shot. It's compact and fat so they would be easy to flip or skip. I don't think they are made anymore but I use to put Megastrike in them and a use either a heavy stupid tube set up or the Owner Phantom Tube Hook. Both worked. I may have only thrown a tube a few times this year. Not sure why.

Big Bite Baits Craw Tube, something about it just gets the big bites for me. I like that they sell them in bulk packs too.

Nailed it!  A no love bait. Very reasonable price and good color options.

A flipping tube is one of my confidence baits. For years I have used a 4” tube made by Right Bite Baits.

Secret Lures …. The stupid tubes and jig heads

I don't know if they still make them or if the company is still in business, but TriggerX has/had a tube/creature that's a notch above a craw tube (which I throw, too). The tube part is 4in. and the creature part is another 3in. I have one pack and two spares.  I guess I've used them kind of sparingly for both flippin and on a C-rig, but they produce quality+ sized fish.

I still have a bunch of the old Zoom small tubes in the 3" size. I Texas rig them and fish them like a jig.

I expiermented flipping tubes this year. I had some 4 inch thick walled generic tubes that got bit but I missed a lot of fish. They just didnt work well for me. Then I tried the slimmer  Zman 4 inch tubes and   had a  real  good hook up rate. They are a little weird to rig and I heard a lot of people dont like them because the stetchiness of them interferes with hooksets. That happens occasionally but i dont get 100 percent hookup with any lure. I use parasite clips to keep it from balling on the hook . One tube will catch a bunch of fish. I caught 25 on the first tube before it was no longer useable.
