coating asphalt driveway
I have it done every year. It protects it from water seeping in the cracks and then causing damage when it freezes. I was told that you shouldn't seal it in the first year after it is put down though. I did it my self a few times but then realized it was actually cheaper to hire someone and the quality of the job I have to admit is at least as good.

Trying to buy a nice kayak
My recommendation is to just buy one used on craigslist or marketplace. Do a little research but don't get too hung up on it. What's the worst that could happen? You buy a kayak for $750, hate it and sell it next year for $650. That's not a horrible downside. The only suggestion I'd make is to buy one with a transducer well so that you don't have to mount it off to the side if you're paddling.

Garmin lake mapping
I don't have that unit but on my Garmin I have to tell it to start recording. It doesn't do it automatically.

Favorite hook for t-rigging tubes
I use Gamakatsu 3/0 ewg's with either tender or power tubes. I use the standard wire hooks but you could up size to superlines.
-
Deeper start
I have a 5 year old deeper pro. The transducer and software is actually pretty good.

Chatterbaits size?
Primarily 1/2 oz for me.

Trailer Maintenance
Thanks. I was naive enough to think that my locking pin was pretty safe but I just watched a video defeating it in seconds.

What was your PB caught on?
Home made 1/2 ounce green pumpkin bladed jig. The same bait and same lake for both largemouth and smallmouth.

I have never caught a bass using…
Spro rats. I bought a couple after a friend highly recommended them and watching an NDyakker video. But to be fair I think I only made about 20 casts with one. The conditions never seemed right last year. Maybe this year

Frogs vs Poppers
I only throw a frog if I have to do to surface vegetation or for skipping. I prefer 30-50 pound braid but I've used 12 pound mono with no problems when the conditions were favorable and I didn't have a better set up with me.

Line for 1/2 Spinnerbaits
I fish 3/8 and 1/2 on the same set up. It was a journey getting to the line choice. I went from straight mono to flouro to 30 pound braid to braid with a 30lb mono leader and I've settled on 12 pound mono with a 12 pound 8 inch steel leader. I'll go without the leader if I don't expect to run into any large pike or tiger muskies.

Marina fishing
I looked it up last year but I just did a few minutes of googling and can't find it so take what I said with a grain of salt but I think it's correct.

Marina fishing
I'm not a lawyer but I believe it's New York state law that it's illegal to fish in a marina if you are asked not to, it's a body of water created by glacial processes (which almost all are in NY) and the marina is man made.

Finding Fish Offshore
We were trolling that day. I fish out of a kayak so I normally don't get that deep.

Finding Fish Offshore
A friend invited me to go lake trout fishing on Owasco Lake last fall. Owasco is one of the smaller finger lakes and is right next to Cayuga. The thermocline was at about 70 feet. The baitfish were at 60 feet and the trout were at 80. The temps were 64 degrees at the surface, 62 at 60 feet and 49 at 80 feet.

Deeper chirp 2
I have a deeper. It has worked well for me in a kayak and will do what you want. I bought the mounting arm for it and that worked well too. The biggest problem is in shallow water. If you go in water less that 4 feet deep it has to be reset.

Drop Shot Terminal Tackle help
My standard hook and bait is a Gamakatsu 1/0 EWG with a finesse worm. The weight is by far the least important part of the set up to me. I usually use a steel tear drop weight or bullet weights back to back with a split ring to hold hold them on.
-
Mono to mono knot
Triple surgeons is what I use because it's what I can tie with the most consistency.
-
What is your favorite soft plastic and how do you rig it?
Texas rigged senko.
-
Mojo rig
Those rubber pegs work great. So does a rubber band, toothpick or swivel. I've never tried it but a split ring should work too.

Thoughts on Weedless Chatterbait?
I have a couple of the project z weedless chatterbaits but they didn't work out for me. I found that when I wanted to go weedless a spinnerbait was a better option.

If you had to pick ONE bait
If I could change weight and rigging then I'd go with a speed worm but since I hypothetically can't I'll hypothetically go with a compact 3/8 ounce jig with a green pumpkin/black skirt and a blackberry speed craw.

Not the target ?
For me it's mostly rock bass anytime anywhere, pickerel and drum.

New Bait Infatuation
I had an accidental infatuation when I couldn't replace a super spook last spring and ended up buying a Berkley J walker and a Googan Hound. The hound didn't fit my style but I purchased a few more of the J walkers and fished them a lot. Probably too much as the year went on.
