  1. What the heck is a rudd? And I noticed you weren't there on Saturday. Hopefully I see you at the next one.
  2. I most commonly use 8 pound mono, 1/8 ounce weight and a black trick worm on a 3/0 light wire offset round bend.
  3. That's my set up. It does have GPS/maps. It works OK. Mine's getting older though and the battery charge doesn't last as long as it used to.
  4. A few days ago I had a giant walleye latch onto the back of a 14" largemouth I had by the lip and was lifting out of the water. The bass had splashed on the surface for a couple seconds while I was trying to grab him and must have attracted the walleye's attention. The walleye looked at me and decided to let go but the bass went crazy and I lost my grip. He was still hooked though. That was a first.
  5. I use steel for drop shot weights. Either the steel tear drop dipsy weights or a bullet weight to a split ring. Occasionally I'll add a clacker bead but I'm not sure it matters. I use 1/16 and 1/8 ounce steel weights for texas rigging but switch to tungsten for heavier weights.
  6. Thanks for pointing that out. My brain went numb this morning I guess.
  7. Does anyone know of any video of him fishing this weekend at Douglas? I'd like to see how he was working the baits.
  8. I use hex head self drilling sheet metal screws mostly. If I'm skipping it around boats then I switch to something that I can push all the way in.
  9. White spinnerbait, sunfish-ish bladed jig.
  10. I guess I'm a simple man. My go to is a senko.
  11. I don't make the heads myself I buy them premade and painted but I always look for Mustad. I don't have a good reason except that they always work well so I stick with them.
  12. I can't go that far back but I'll go with the stickworm especially a green pumpkin senko. I bought a bag of yum dingers in 2017 and I was skeptical but they worked great.
  13. I like a neko rigged black senko.
  14. Yes. That hook will work fine.
  15. I haven't tried the flatworm yet but I have had success drop shotting a zoom finesse worm which is pretty close. I use a 1/0 ewg mostly.
  16. I was watching a video and realized that never have I ever used a spinnerbait with painted blades. I've never felt the need but maybe I should try it.
  17. I won some custom painted baits. I chose a squarebill blank in phantom gill, a DT6 blank in sexy shad, a choppo blank in rat and a red patterned jerkbait. The paint job and hooks on all of them were great. The squarebill was really really good. The DT6 is really really bad. I tried the plopper for a few minutes and it seemed to run well so it should catch fish. I haven't tried the jerkbait yet. So my experience is that it's a mixed bag. Unfortunately the guy is no longer painting small squarebills anymore. He's concentrating on the larger baits.
  18. Just started watching Travelers on Netflix. We are half way through the first season and it is excellent. There are 3 seasons to watch. Hopefully it holds up.
  19. I use the Eagle Claw micro leaders. 12 pound, 8" long. My local Walmart usually has them or I think I ordered them from Tackle Warehouse last year. I mostly use them on crankbaits and chatterbaits. I'm sure they affect the lure action a little but it doesn't seem to have an impact on the number of bites. I don't use them in tournaments though.
  20. This is supposed to be a year round list but I only fish from mid April to mid October so it's my year. 1. Senko in green pumpkin 2. 1/2 ounce vibrating jig in green pumpkin with a green pumpkin paddletail trailer 3. squarebill, Lucky Craft in Ghost Gill 4. 3/8 ounce white and chartreuse spinnerbait with a white paddletail trailer 5. 3/8 ounce brush jig in green pumpkin/black with a green pumpkin super speedcraw trailer Number 5 was a tough choice because I had to leave out a drop shot bait and a topwater.
  21. I use nothing. I think if I was fishing for bigger money though that I would. Just in case.
  22. I think the willow leaf is for swimming a senko. So it would go willow leaf to split ring to swivel to keeper and then you screw the keeper into the end of a senko.
  23. Thin walled for me too. Texas rigged 3.5 to 4 inches. Power tubes or tender tubes.
  24. I use Peg-Its all the time but only for weights. I'll be giving this a try in the spring. Thanks!
  25. Good luck. I hope it's good news.
