Finally scored a great deal at a Goodwill store today

Featured Replies

Wife wanted to stop in at a Goodwill store today so as she was looking around i went to the sporting goods section. I was extremely surprised to find a Pflueger SP25 as new and shiny as a new one mounted on a fenwick rod. I took the spool off and checked it over and it was top notch.

The price was 14.99 for the setup but there were 2 problems. The rod was broken, missing 1/3 off the top part and the reel was missing the handle. Thats ok with handle missing as i have 4 other pfleuger reels to borrow from.

I went up to the counter and showed the rod and reel to an employee and he said that sucks. He then put his thumb over the number 1 of the 14.99 and said does this price look better. Bought it for total of $5.38.

$4.99 is a sweet deal - nice find!

He did the right thing, who sells a broken rod and a reel with no handle for $15? More like Badwill.
