When i was in the US NAVY SEABEES stationed in Pt Hueneme Calif, every time our battalion came back from overseas deployment I was assigned TAD to the US Marine corps weapons dept as a M60 and M16 instructor and rifle range coach. I was stationed out at Pt Mago artillery rifle range on the Pacific coast 25 minutes north of Malibu Beach. Just so happens the range is bordered by a nude beach on the south flank and all the Malibu girls would come up there. We always had a soldier on that flank as a lookout and beach watch with high powered binoculars looking for boats who didnt get the maritime report and to stop anyone from wandering into the live range. Our bullets were going through the targets over the beach and into the water. Whoever got the beach watch that day was very happy. After a day of shooting I and a few guys would always in uniform walk the beach and mingle with the nude girls, I was 21 yrs old at the time, I was very intimidated by these hot girls and didnt have the nerve to ask one out.

A neighbor of mine who lived across the street from me in South San Francisco left a note on my windshield telling me i was parking in his spot in the street. He claims since its in front of his house he is the one who should be parking there and i should be parking in front of my house. Well other people were parked in said spot. I kept parking in his spot until my girlfriend at the time told me to be nice. I didnt park there ever again and he thanked me in person. If I ever have a problem with parking anywhere again like I did with this guy I will just bring my Howitzer home and park it in his spot, this is my 1966 galaxie 500.

@Darth-Baiter Hey darth, i had 3 molar implants done in 2022, there are 2 ways to put the crown on, dentist uses glue which if you ever have a problem with the fixture which is buried in your jaw or the abutment which is held onto the fixture with a screw and then the crown glued onto the abutment, the crown may have to be broken to get it off the abutment. Glued on also is less stable and may move as I had a glue on come loose and he had to break the crown to get it off the abutment. My dentist then went the better? but more expensive way, he ordered a new crown at his expense that has an access hole drilled into it where the screw goes through the crown, through the abutment and screws into the fixture and torqued to spec, and then once in they just cover the hole with epoxy so if ever a problem with fixture, abutment or crown they just drill out the epoxy and then unscrew your crown and abutment. Now beware that the screw ins can also come loose as mine did and was rattling around in my gums and it finally fell off in my mouth. Dentist had to grind my gum tissue down to get the crown to set deeper and more snug, yes it was like grinding hamburger and painful for over a week as he also set the crown back on that same time so the gum tissue would heal around the crown. He then torqued it down past spec as he said he learned its more secure than spec. I lost 10 lbs of weight that 10 days i couldnt eat as my gums were raw. River fishing, while landing this fish in the current it swam all crazy and got wrapped up into 3 broken off lines so I couldnt reel it in, wife to the rescue as she waded out to grab the fish and lines.

For the past 3 years I have been using this brand of wax worm for panfish and still catch a bass on them. Real wax worms fall apart to easy and when buying the real ones sometimes they are shriveled up or dried out and useless. These mummies stay on the hook as long as you thread them on.

We were fishing the lake from the bank and since spring a mother duck would swim by us with her ducklings, well last week my wife seen something moving around in the shoreline rocks and it was a teenager sized duck who's feet were wrapped up in fishing line, pretty sure it was one of the original ducklings when cruising by got trapped and left behind. Wife freed it and set it in the water and it paddled off so fast it turned the water to steam.

Dad died a few months ago so I took possession of his 2002 chevy trailblazer which he purchased brand new. I am doing needed maintenance and the spark plugs were the first on the list. All 6 plugs were eaten away at the center electrode which caused a .060 gap, the specs in the manual state a .050 gap but GM changed it to .040. Dad had 4 coil packs go bad and the latest was in 2025, you would think that when replacing the coil the dealer tech would have pulled the plug and noted the electrode was bad and gap distorted, what they did tell my dad as he told me because i told him to have them check the plugs was that the plugs are fine, Big BS as the truck only has 500 more miles on it since dealer had it. The tech also messed up big time when putting the resonator rubber flange which is the size of a grapefruit onto the throttle body the bottom of the rubber flange got rolled over so as not making a tight seal and sucking in dirty air, The rubber was now shaped with the fold and I had to take a hair dryer and get the rubber super hot and mold it back into proper shape. I do not trust anyone other than myself to work on my vehicles as they are under pressure to turn out the work in an allotted time and that causes mistakes or overlooking important steps. I asked the service writer how much to change the fluid in the front differential, $168.00, I did it on Saturday in my garage for $20 which was the cost of the gear oil, very easy job, also the transfer case another easy job, they wanted $174.00, cost me $40.00 and same with rear end dealer 168.00 me $20.00. They want $374.00 to flush my tranny, The pan is very accesable with no crossmembers in the way so i will do that myself. That is a total of $884.00 they charge. The dealership charges $192.00 an hour plus the shop fees will be added on, the dispose of waste fee and of course tax.

I like toilet paper, tried using moss, leaves, bark and corn husks and didnt work out well so big NO for me. True story, after camping in California on the Columbia river for 5 days got home and ended up in the doctors office with bad case of poison oak on my genitals, groin, rear end and arms, missed 4 days of work because of so many blisters and itching and had to get a shot.

here in minnesota the bluegills pull like a mack truck going in circles and most times pull my drag.

So last week we had 2 days of nice weather in the Detroit Lakes Minn area where it wasnt windy and was sunny and in the 70,s. I was told about this lake named Rush lake and learned that the lake narrows down into a short 40 yard long 50 feet wide channel which runs 10ft deep with sandy shores and shallow rocky rapids as it feeds into another lake, perfect for walleye spawning where angers line up and cast and reel with boats also staged at the entrance to the channel. Wife and I caught bass during the day and enjoyed watching the giant sturgeon spawn, it was like looking and fishing in a aquarium, after awhile it was 6pm and i asked one of the folks lining up to fish from the bank "when do the walleye start to bite? the guy tells me " see that parking lot light behind you? when it turns on the bite starts" Well the light turned on alright, at 9.30. When it turned on so did the walleye, there was 25 folks with chest waders on standing in the water and 3 boats at the mouth and i was the only one fishing from the bank, but i persevered, I was standing behind everyone and just casted out with the others and on 2nd cast caught a 19 incher, I was pumped as i had on a 4 inch gulp purple minnow on a 1/4 oz jig. Two guys snagged into sturgeon and we all stopped and pulled our lines so they could walk in front of us and get out of the way to take care of the sturgeon, then it was all lines in again, numerous snags between us were happening but no one argues as its part of the game, I snagged lines twice and each time was easy to undo. I later put on a mimic minnow and caught 2 more 18 inchers and it was now 11:30 pm soi was satisfied with my bigger size walleye and we cleaned em up and arrived home at 2:30 am.

Wife and I at the river yesterday, this kid walks up to me and asks me how many i caught which is kool as i like to shoot the bull while fishing, i replied one. He tells me he fishes here a lot and takes out his phone and starts sharing all his fish catches with me with pounds and lengths of each fish , walleye and catfish. So i pull out my phone and say look what i caught here and i show him the big 52 inch fat muskie i caught while fishing for walleye, he mehs me, i say look how fat it is, meh, so i show him the huge buffalo head i caught here, meh, big fat cat, nope not interested. He then starts showing me his hunting pics of deer and the buck he shot and his ice fishing photos and his cousins dirt track race car. I put my phone away, I then congratulated the kid for being outdoors and adventurous as we finished our meeting. The kid walks away, his huge fishing backpack strapped to his back with his rod held in its proper place complete with a rod cover sleeve looking like a tall antenna on an old military back pack radio, he sets his gear down and then his little friend shows up and instead of fishing they both start skipping rocks for the next hour and then they leave. All the while it brought me back to that age when I hung out at the Red river in fargo using old spark plugs for sinkers to catch catfish. Two taps on my line, fish on and back in the real world.

I was paying $4.50 a gallon in San Francisco in 2004, and when i had my jet boat back then i wasnt allowed to put it into any reservoir unless i showed the game and fish employee using a gas receipt my fuel didnt have MTBE. How i remember that day, I had to turn my truck around and go back home and park it. From then on i kept it at the Delta, no rules.

Whenever i need new fishing gloves i stop by menards or any hardware store and go to the glove section and try on a few pairs of thin rubbery / silicone palmed gloves, the last pair my wife bought she found in the gardening area. When i get to the river like just this past week i put them on and cut the tips off of just 3 fingers and when the weather warms up in a few weeks i will cut the tips off the other fingers. First time back fishing since july 4 2025, River fishing from the bank in lisbon ND on the sheyene river. Cold and 40 mph gusts, had to put snow pants on and layered up. Minnows, jig and bobber and one on a mimic minnow casting.

Well I was greeted with this so I was a bit weirded out. It is helpful to know how your intestines are performing which can tell you a lot about your body.

July 4th, 2025 my wife and I stopped fishing and became 100% home caretakers for my father. We pulled him out of the nursing home after he ran out of his free days from medicare against DRs orders or he would have had to pay out of pocket $18,000.00 a month. He had dementia real bad and not able to walk. This was a family decision between myself, wife and sister, my sister was zero help in the care as she runs her own animal clinic 275 miles away so wife and i were on our own. Dad was 100% wheel chair bound and couldnt feed himself, pee, #2 or clean himself, he was in diapers at 93 years old. I bought a hoyer lift to to be able to harness him up and lift him out of bed and into the wheelchair, had to buy all kinds of supplies for protecting the bed mattress to protecting ourselves with rubber gloves, masks ...all his hygiene products, diapers were the worst to deal with as sizing and their strength and ability to hold pee and poo is varied with brand and price. Cleaning him after he messed his diaper was the most disgusting thing i have had to do in my lifetime, it was an hour or more process to clean him and everything his feces came in contact with, he is not an infant weighing 8 lbs, he is a full sized adult weighing 175 ibs and is basically like trying to move and turnover a 175 lb bag of gravel. We had to wash him clean and dry him all in his bed or else skin problems would eat him up. Many times i thought my life was over and i would be doing this for months on end and never see the outside of the house again, and my wife who i brought to america from the philippines to live and enjoy life together was now involved in something she never expected. So much mental goes into the process and the stress is overwhelming with nights of no sleep from dad yelling out for my deceased mom to come to him and then talking to her as if she was in the room and his father and mother whom he would see standing in his room as real figures. Many times I would wish the good lord would please take him from this world as i cant take it any longer. I would get mad at him which he wasnt able to understand why and didnt know who i was at times. 5 months later he died in bed, I woke up and went to eat breakfast and looked into his bedroom and didnt see his chest breathing, he was gone, I stood over him and stared. no tears were shed, I didnt feel sad, I felt instant relief for myself, the stress gone. Dad said many times he wanted to die, he was now where he wanted to be.

I noticed if i dont shovel the snow out from in front of my street mailbox for his postal truck to be able to get next to for an arm reach out the carrier wont get out of his truck and they bring my mail back to the post office, On a more serious note I am receiving a lot of mail that isnt glued down and also received christmas cards from family that were opened.

I waited till i was 55 to get married, while i was in the military i knew not to get married as i saw first hand how the cheating took place on both sides. Then when i got out I spent the next 27 years looking for the right one that I could love and trust. I dated and lived with a few of them and they would get angry with me for not wanting to marry which led to us breaking up. I thought I was never going to find a woman to love, I had 3 weeks of vacation built up at work and decided to take off for the Philippines for those 3 weeks and had the time of my life, no I didnt fall in love in 3 weeks or meet the girl of my dreams, what I did discover was a whole new culture of woman unlike any i had been a part of in the USA. From their close family dynamics showing love and being happy while living in a bamboo structure with banana leaves for a roof to eating rice and fish 3 meals a day. Materialistic is not in their vocabulary. When I arrived back in america I had a plan, a year later I retired early, sold my truck, tools, threw aways years of photo albums in the dumpster, packed 3 bags and moved to the Philippines to start a new life. One day I was looking for a new sweat wicking type of shirt and the sales girl was helping me and I knew she was the one without even knowing her name, I knew it in my 6th sense , its as if God put her in front of me and said here is what you were waiting for, no more need to search, its over, she was a lonely widow and I was a lonely man. We moved to the USA in 2019 and just celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary and yes I will answer the 1 question you are all wanting to know, she Does out fish me. dandelions are a big no no in my neighberhood, but i do see yards in other areas of town where its all overgrown with dandelions. I like to walk the yard and dig them out with a putty knife, squatting down or kneeling on 1 leg and then standing up gives my hammys, quads, gluteus maximus, gluteus medius, and gluteus minimus a real good workout.
