What's the difference?

Featured Replies

What's the difference between the Minn Kota Powerdrive V2 and the Terrova models?  They both seem to have the same description.   I know they're the only two Minn Kota models that are compatable with i-Pilot.  Am I missing something?

The terrova has higher thrust options. The foot control will not work in conjunction with ipilot and powerdrive v2(hand control only), but does work with terrova. Terrova is about $300 more.

I just went through this two weeks ago when a stump killed my old T/M. The main difference between the Terrova and the Powerdrive V2 is the mount. The mount is much beefier on the Terrova. The T/M units are essentially the same. The foot controls are a little different, Personally I like the looks of the terrova foot control better. As I have a small 17' F/S. I went with the Powerdrive V2 and saved myself about 250.00. Your needs may differ from mine though. I will probably get the co-pilot and if that works well I may disconnect the foot control and put it in a storage compartment to save deck space. (small boat = small fishing deck)

Let me know what you decide.

I think it'll be the terrova for a couple reasons...

1.  although the i-pilot is nice and I'm sure quite useful, I still want the option to use the foot pedal when I want.

2.  I fish a lot of water full of stumps and submerged boulders.  I can already see that beefier mount getting put to good use.

WHEN I CAN AFFORD IT... it'll be terrova.
