Can I use a 15lb braid line on a rod that says 8lb-14lb

Rods say a lot of nonsense sometimes, I have one that blurts out "fluorocarbon?" every so often, obviously I just ignore it...

No problem w/15lb. Probably be fine with 20-30 lb braid too. Just make sure your aware and tension the drag accordingly.

Yes, but make sure you’re wearing safety glasses at all times while fishing just in case the rod explodes on a hook set from the extra force   :cool-045:

jk - you’re good

Most of the time you have to be at least 5 lbs over the limit before the Tackle Police will write you up.  :D

Absolutely not! Your rod will refuse to cooperate and you would be forced to hand line fish.

just kidding. You should be fine.

Thanks guys

I've also never been asked what pound line I was using when fulfilling a rod warranty so take that for what it is worth as well
