VMC Crossover Rings

Featured Replies

wacky and neko rigging have become a staple technique for me, and i always have one tied on. i'm a yamamoto senko snob and personally i feel like no other stick bait compares when thrown weightless. are the VMC crossover rings worth it? hookup ratio not hindered? does it really save your bait that much compared to a regular o-ring wacky rig?

I use them and like them myself .  I have had no issue with not getting bit . I used electrial heat strink before I bought the crossovers and the heat strink actually saves the worm longer because you can cut it wider so the pressure of casting and fighting fish is not right in the middle of the worm so they tend not to break off as bad but hye crossovers do a good job. The one thing I have noticed about the crossover is that I have not had a fish swallow the hook yet thats with about 150 bass caught using them. I think it would last as long or better than O rings. I use them with flickshack worms.

Ive been looking at these and want to get a pack, but im not making a TW order for just wacky rings. If only BPS sold them!!!

Wacky and Neko rigging is something I'm new to but have been having real good success with so far and have been using the crossover rings.  They will save the Senkos and allow you to get a few fish off each if you use the right size ring.  I would suggest one size smaller than what is recommended ie 5 inch senko gets 6mm ring and the 4 inch gets 5mm ring.  My first outing the fish snatched the first few Senkos right out the ring lol but once I downsized I've had no issues with that.  All fish were hooked in top lip I think of about 10 bass I caught Neko rigging last Saturday only one worm came off during the fight had a largemouth that kept jumping and I saw when the worm was thrown.  Another thing try to get the hook size you want right before you put it in the crossover ring hole because its hard to get the barb back through without tearing the ring. I've ordered nearly all mine so far in clear but do have a few in green pumpkin also.

I throw quite a bit of wacky and Neko and use the VMC rings and pliers, like them.

Senko's do last longer unless Crappie like the color your throwing......PB&J. Lol

Mine no longer sells firearms or hunting stuff. I try to avoid it as much as possible after that, but if I need fishing stuff it’s either that or Walmart. Their selection is horrible.

But I ran in there the other day to grab one thing and noticed they had the crossover rings and pliers. And with how little durability the Yamamoto senkos have (and how expensive they are comparatively) I would try these if the rings could make them last a little longer.

Two out of three DSG in my area quit selling fishing stuff all together so I have boycotted them. I'm going to see if BPS can order them or have them shipped to store.
