I fish straight braid on my spinning rods, mainly 20lb. the fish around here are not line shy and most of our water is pretty dirty. I use mono on all my baitcasters and for crankbaits. I do not use any fluoro, because I find it is too brittle, needs carefully tied special knots, kinks easily, and is hard enough to cut itself. I think I could get fluoro to snap just by staring at it. I know some swear by it, I swear at it. This year, I do want to experiment with braid to mono leader on some of my casting setups as many find it to be extremely beneficial.
