Boat Storage Cost?

Featured Replies

I am beginning to shop for a place to store a 19ft boat.

I wanted to get a general idea of what some of you guys are paying and what amenities do you have?

Any info would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Rates vary in this area from 75-125. I got lucky and have mine stored over at a buddy's shop. Cost me nothing.

KU, I haven't shopped around in awhile but a few years back the highest priced covered storage on the Missouri side of the state line was 50 - 75 dollars.  I found a storage location near Smithville Lake that charges 25 dollars a month for outside storage inside a locked chain-link fence with 24 hour a day monitoring.  I pay 6 months at a time and get a discount of a couple of dollars a month.  Most places in this area will be much more expensive.  I called quite a few places before I found this place.

$54 per month secure outdoor storage for a 17' with 24hr in and out access.

Thanks for the info guys.

Had a bit of price shock with the first two places I called.  That's when I posted this.

I first called the two most convenient places.  Both were in the $150 range for covered and around $100 for outdoor.

Thought that was a little steep

If you end up with outside storage, get a cover.

The sun's uv rays will raise heck with vinyl/plastic seats and padding, plus any lexan/polycarbonate windshields, finishes, etc.

Doesn't need to be anything fancy, just good enough to securely stay put, and to block out the sun's rays.

It will also keep the boat from getting grimy from contaminants in rain, and airborn pollen from plants.

Try Paradise Storage near Camp Branch Marina on Smithville Lake.

Great location and good pricing.

Outdoor and indoor storage, and they offer electricity so you can keep batteries charged between trips to the lake.
