I murdered a stanley spinnerbait

Hey ya'll,

Stanley spinnerbaits are some of the most unique spinnerbaits out there. Special wedge blades, special tapered wire. They're really great. Today I decided to murder one.

What can I say? The distance from the head to the bend in the wire is perfect for a compact single colorado. I can keep the wedge blades.....

I don't know how long it will take @Catt to recover from seeing this monstrosity being committed to a stanley spinnerbait but by that time, maybe I'll have caught a bass or two on it.

Stay crazy.

Looks good, I often start out with Stanley or Booyah spinnerbaits when making things up. I'm actually not a huge fan of the stock Stanley blade combinations, but I'm sure I might be more inclined if I lived further south. What is the deal with that band?

How do you make up Stanley head spinnerbaits with two blades? Because it’s got that “wrap-around” loop to connect the swivel. And I really don’t know, the band is weird, but it’s the one it came with, and it holds the skirt well even though it doesn’t look like it. At one point I had taken the skirt off and replaced it with a rubber, but I changed it back because the silicone stock one is so…. Dazzling. Maybe I have an orientation towards “bling”. Sure, sure, you can call me Liberace.

For the booyah heads, Im guessing you are talking about the regular booyahs, not covert? I’ve actually never used one ?. They look pretty compact. Why do you like them?

I use the Booyahs quite a bit because they are cheap, work, and easy to find, but I'm not too concerned with the brand. Most of the bodies I get at fishing shows and flea markets, guys usually sell spinnerbaits for cheap there. On any spinnerbait, I either straighten out the blade loop, or clip it tight to the bend, and strip out all the components. I also like to wire on skirts made of tabs or strands, or slide on one of the all in one kind like SK, or ZMan. I go through a lot of skirts, cause a bunch of the places I fish have snakeheads and pickerel as well as bass.
