Just got my swimbait order-

4- California Swimbabe Baby E's in different colors

4- 3:16 Bait Co Shad baits

Now what the heck do I do with these things?

They look good; certainly lifelike. They're bigger than what I'm used to in other baitfish imitations (CB's, flukes, etc.).

Please share your advice as to when and where to fish them.

My idea is to fish them hard this Fall when the shad are grouped up in the creeks.

We'll see.

i'm no good at fishing swimbaits...the only time i've  caught them on a swimbait is on deep rock piles.

Maybe you should of found out how to use them before you bought them.

 Awe c'mon T-rig we've all been there at the tackle shop with the bait monkey going crazy next thing you know things are in your cart! Lots of them usually! LOL

shad I use swimbaits but have no experience with your exact ones. On the Storms I sometimes just swim them back slow, most oftem I bump them along the bottom, I also swim them slow in very shallow water parallel to the bank.

First you need to buy a new Dobyns Swimbait rod and a new Daiwa Zillion....nothing else will work. I would then suggest using them in California for two or three weeks to get the hang of it. You probably will want to take me with you for support and pay my way out there. Once you do this you will catch fish with them. When are we going?

I think a lot of people will resort to swimbaits in the Fall.  Might work but I'll stick with craw jigs trailers and jigs because the bass here just love crawfish.  Yes, the forage on shad in creeks but everyone keys in on the creeks in the fall.  Jay Yellas won the Wal-Mart open here using swimbaits in post-spawn conditions because the shad were spawning.  When the shad spawn, that's when you should use nothing but swimbaits.
