I’m looking for a box or boxes where I can keep my hard plastic fishing lures at home. I fish from shore and would not be taking the boxes with me. They would be strictly for storage at home. I would like to keep the baits in their boxes. I don’t want or need a sectioned box or one that is waterproof. Just a simple flat plastic box that isn’t very expensive. I would appreciate any suggestions.

So like a tote? There is like a gazillion different ones from cheap basic ones to Yeti level $ ones.

Thanks for your suggestion, but NOT like a tote or bag. I want a flat box so that when I lift the cover I can see all my hard baits side by side in the box. The box would probably be made of clear or opaque hard plastic. I don't need an expensive tackle box or waterproof container.

Do a google search for Hook Bonnets. Install these on your hooks and you can chuck your baits in a clear tote without dividers. No worrying about them becoming entangled in a daisy chain horror show.

The bonnets are the cat's meow - every treble lure I own has them. Lets me put multiples in a single compartment without tangling issues.

 

I've tried a few different types and the Owner Safety Caps are still the best.

Thank you. I don't want bonnets. I just want a flat box to beep my boxed lures inside. I don't want to carry the box. I just want it for home storage.

I keep my soft plastics and hard baits in dollar store plastic bins. Cheap and easy, sits on a couple of rows of a book shelf. 

I would like a wide shallow hard plastic box with a lid so that when I lift the lid I can see all my hard baits lined up inside.

So you want a rectangular box for a single layer of baits not stacked? If so, I would just get with a tackle retailer, and have them save you the bulk pack containers they come in, essentially small cardboard boxes that fit 3-12 baits or so exactly, that and a sharpie would work best for not just storage, but the ability to access them quickly and efficiently. But hey, maybe you want to display them like a baseball.

That seems like a good idea. Thank you. I also found some flat clear plastic "under the bed" storage boxes online that look good. These are something like 30"-34" x 18" or so and not very deep.

I found some boxes on amazon that I think I’ll order. They are Sterilite brand clear plastic boxes with latched lids. Measurements 14” x 11” x 3.25”. They are stackable. Six-pak for $26.99.

My question is - how many 'spare' lures do you have to need that much storage?

 

My spares/dupes fit into a single drawer of one of these...and yes, that includes all my 'extra' soft plastics as well.

I would go visit Walmart/hobby lobby/Michaels. They have tons of clear storage bins with no dividers. The one above that @MN Fisher showed you I picked up at Walmart. 
 

personally I keep mine in Plano boxes sorted by style/running depth. Then I can grab and go and not need to move baits around. Saves time keeps me organized. BPS sells cheap Plano style boxes

I get my 3701s from Menards for $8 - less than pretty much any other place.
