So I have a JDM Bantam MGL A which has a smallish handle. I want to put a 100mm+ carbon fiber handle with a 7x4 fitting without a any spacer that will fit with Daiwa OG cork knobs. This might be a tall order.

optional would be studio composit handle for Shimano, or cutoff the rivet post and install screw knob post.

I am very interested in this thread. I have a couple of JDM Metaniums. Will the offset handle work on the Bantams/Metaniums?

The Gomexus 105mm has weird notches on the knob bars that don't make them compatible with OE Daiwa, or Shimano knobs though. I would prefer offset.

Yes, they should clear the stock drag star. I have a 95mm Ray's handle with 8x5 to 7x4 spacer and it fits...I just want a larger 100 or 105mm handle.

This is not carbon fiber but it will accept the s shape I cork knob.  It is an Avail STI 2 100mm that was purchased from HedgeHog Studios.

this can't be correct.  The Gomexus handle will fit Daiwa S and Shimano A knobs. 

These are Avail knobs on Gomexus, and same Avail knobs on Daiwa SLP handle.

the proper stack is shown - if you're running into a hitch, you may not  be getting the outer BB to align and slide onto the spindle when trying to tighten. 

 

all nice handles shown above, but you should already have what you need. 

The cork handles came with 4-mm I.D. shim washers. 

The fat sections on the posts of the gomexus handle won't allow daiwa knobs to slide down with a a bearing in the bottom of the knob.  You would have to remove the bearing and use the the fat section in place of the bearing and then shim out any play.  Not worth it.  5 seconds on the chinease amazon site will flood you with carbon handle options.  Honestly they are kind or over played and even $40 reels from that site some with them as stock handles.  A light weight quality aluminum handle looks sharper imo which also exist on the same site from gomexus and other brands.

So the issue with fitting the Daiwa OG cork, is the additional notch on the two left Shimano handles.

Yeah, there's a lot of play if I put the Daiwa knob onto the Gomexus, or Shimano type handle.

you're exactly describing not getting the outer BB to slide onto the spindle when you tighten the screw. 

You use shim washers to dial out end play, and will have to go through several install trials to pick the right number and thickness. 

Here's a KAWA 115mm carbon fiber handle, to fit my C4 5601. It has 7x4 version(or give you a fitting shim?), and fits Daiwa knobs. 

 

 

But if long handle is what you want, I would suggest a stock handle from Shimano. The XG model of 16 Metanium MGL comes with a stock 96mm aluminum handle, light and strong. The color may be a little brighter, but it should match a Bantam, or a 21 Metanium, nicely.

Yeah so I think ultimately, I will have to buy a 8x5 Daiwa handle to fit the OG Daiwa Cork knobs and use a 7x4 shim adapter to fit the Bantam MGL. Or go on a goose chase to find bushings with a large inner diameter to fit over the base of the Shimano handle to match the Daiwa knob.

That's actually one of the first I looked at, but they've been sold out of that one for a while. Hence, looking for alternatives.

but to tell you the truth, I have seen Shimano with Daiwa cork knob. I think one of our member has that reel. It doesn’t really look right to me???
