true. good point.  I was admittedly coming at this problem with the eyes of a kayaker.

but why would you need a waterproof shoe in the first place?  when in a bass boat, I wear running shoes.

Because fishing with wet feet is miserable to me. Especially, when it's cold out.

Agreed, I wear running shoes too - they just happen to be Nike gore-tex waterproof running shoes. ? I've used them for years and have noticed no downside vis-à-vis my regular Nike training shoes.  Good for bank fishing too.

I don’t know what they are called but nurses and doctors always wear these.  They swear they are the most comfortable if you are in your feet all day.  Probably a lot like Crocs but I haven’t worn either type.

Those look like they have better tread than other crocs. If they're made for the medical trade, they probably cost 100% more, just because.

Ramps where I live are so gradual that I have to get wet to load and unload my boat. Ice out is particularly fun.

Simms flip-flops are as good as my custom orthotics.  Heck if I had the proper sock, I would be "that guy"

I wear the Under Armour Kilchi's both in my kayak and in my boat.  I never liked flip flops/sandals/crocs while kayaking because rocks always found a way into the shoe if I stopped to wade fish.  So far, these have worked great everywhere except the beach.  And, they worked fine at the beach...there was just a bunch of sand that got inside the shoe.
