I was bored yesterday and the YouTube algorithm had decided I needed this video.  (plus a bunch of yoga ones as well - after searching for some lower back pain stretches)

Roland was in teaching mode. he uses a swivel to lock his weighted Texas rig worm in place.  I have nothing to lose, so I am going to try this in the California Delta tomorrow.  it is very locked in, I do admit.

seems like moss will hang up on it.  we shall see.

First I've seen that.

It works . I use to do it a lot . Since I discovered VMC offset hooks , I dont do it any more . The unusual bend on the VMC keeps the worm in place much better than any other offset hook I have used .

But he has a lot of Senko videos where he doesn't do this. He mentioned in one that he gets seconds from Yamamoto, probably for free.

I thought he was a Krazy Glue guy?

Looking at the photo - how do you get the worm above the swivel? Looks like the swivel attaches at both ends. Does he use the tag end to hold it?

Thread your weight on the line, then one end of the swivel. Next, tie on your hook and run it through the nose of your worm.  Run the hook through the other end of the swivel and insert the hook into the worm.

I did this for years until Glen posted about using heavy mono run through the worm and hook eye.  It not only works great, it doesn't pick up snot moss like the swivel.
