Knock sensor

Featured Replies

Yesterday  my 2004 yamaha 225 ox66 vmax wouldn't come up on plane. The bulb wouldn't pump tight so I changed it and of course it wasn't that simple. However when I pulled the cowling last night to start checking lines and filters I noticed that knock sensor was unplugged. Could this keep the motor  from coming up on plane?

Motors don't "come up on plane", but a detached sensor connection can and most likely will cause a motor to malfunction.

The unplugged knock sensor would definitely limit power.  This could keep you off plane.

Sorry for wording it incorrectly

"my motor wouldn't push my boat on plane"

Update,  the knock sensor being disconnected was my issue.
