Zoom horny toad: best toad I’ve ever thrown

@Munkin

Allen, you may know him, Ryan Alunni. He runs Northbranch Tackle on FB and makes a sled head. Similar to the weighted hook in your pick but more "weight forward". Al Winco used to make them also, now Fitt Lures.

Jeff Little made them as well they are called a draggin head. Made a mold of them like 2 years ago after everyone kept asking me to.

Zoom's Ultravibe Speed Craw

Zoom's Horny Toad

Stanley's Ribbit

For additional weight I use a pegged bullet weight.

The Zoom Horney Toad is the DeFacto standard in toads - for a reason .

I love the Horny Toads, but they share my heart with the Kietech toads.  The Kietech toads weight a ton and cast far far better then a Horny.  They also make a bigger wake and can be run a lot more slowly.  The Hornys get the nod when I want to fish faster and/closer in, the Kietechs when I want to go further/slower.

Hey Munkin, just found this thread. I've been looking for a draggin head mold for a while. Curious, did you modify a pre-made mold with a Dremel tool, or did you have one made for you? Thanks

I don't know who makes a hand pour mold? Mine is a silicone spincast mold.
