Lures on ebay not as posted???

Featured Replies

Don't know how many of you search ebay for certain lures but have you noticed lures being described as one thing but are actually another?I have recently bought several honey b's by bagleys and when they arrived they were actually killer b 1's! >:(I don't know if it matters but some were sold by women and that may be the reason for the wrong descriptions. How do some people get these large amounts of lures, estate actions where fisherman die? :-[ :'(

i saw some on there, 5 LC sammy's for like 15 bucks or something.....but read the title again, it says "lucky craft ACTION" they are knock offs i suppose, i almost went for it, anyone else seen these?

That's why I don't share my lure purchases with my wife. I don't know what would be worse: her auctioning off all the bait monkey's hard work or some poor soul getting the wrong lure.

Seriously man, that stinks. I've bought a number of lures off e-bay and have been fortunate enough to get what I've expected. Hopefully you can work it out with the seller.

The internet has become less reliant for secure information, havent you guys notice that only a few members give out usefull information. It usually the same members that answer questions, while 70% other people leech off information.  :;) Might also be reason that experience anglers on the forum dont want to share some real bass techniques with newbs.

I haven't bought anything off eBay in a long time.  I'm amazed at what people will pay for "used" anything without seeing it in the palm of their hand.  I would buy all the #5 Fat Raps(shallow and deep versions) I could in black/silver but not for the prices people are paying for them on eBay.  I love those old Fat Raps but not THAT much.  What I have bought was just as they described it... so far,  but I'm done with eBay.  All my fishing needs are met by my local retailer (and GMAN for my jigs)....screw eBay.  Most people on eBay are profiting handsomely on shipping rates alone now.

My only problem is...how to buy from *** again because I've dumped my pay pal account too.

This is the danger of ebay.  You have to read the descriptions VERY CAREFULLY, things like the LC action are  common, it means it is NOT a lucky craft and the seller can rightfully say 'I never said it was a lucky craft, I said it acted like one"

Advice to all ebay newbies, do not make major purchases untill you learn "ebay speak" even with highly rated feedbacks.  Keep in mind people do not like to leave negative feedback because it virtually guarantees that they will in turn GET a negative feedback.

Caveat emptor - buyer beware!!!!!

You've got a good point Avid on the neg/ neg e-bay feeback deal. I don't go for it though I just do my thing and tell it like it is. I make sure I spell out my side in the feedback and let the chips fall where they may. I'm a buyer only so it is not a big deal for my feedback.

I just made a purchase from *** and used PayPal without inputing any account info. Can't remember how it went, but it worked out fine.

As for the original post, I won't buy anything from ebay anymore unless it has a good picture. And for lures, a good pic of the box would be good as well.

The only thing I get from ebay anymore are original wiggle warts and occasionally some plastics.  As for the wiggle warts, no bass fishermen in his right mind will part with any originals he has in his possesion so the only way to get most of the most popular colors is from there.

Another thing to keep in mind with eBay is that there are many non-auction sellers, ie store owners, such as myself.  eBay makes a great venue for small retailers to host a webstore.  There are a lot of great tackle shops on eBay.
