for the guys using the small aluminum rigs where do yall pu your rods while fishing ?

I fish from a canoe and only bring 2-3 rods. When I'm fishing I have one in my hand, and have the other two with the handles resting on the seat on either side of me and the middle of the rod resting on the yoke. When I'm paddling the third rod goes on the floor between my legs with the middle propped up on the yoke. In my buddies boat, which is a small aluminum with bench seats, its a similar deal, handles on the seat I'm in, usually the front, and the middle of the rod on the middle bench. I can usually comfortably bring one more rod in his boat than I can in my canoe.

Edit: I keep stick jackets on the rods when not in use to prevent damage to the blanks from bouncing on the yoke/bench seat.

Not a problem in my 20' bass boat.

When I'm fishing from my 1436 jon, I limit the number to five if by myself and to three each when two people are fishing.

The rods are sitting on top of the bench seats and secured down with two/three on each side. 

Depending on your layout, a smaller version to hold one or two rods each side of you might do the trick. No need for stick jackets on this set up. Bungee cords hold the rods in place while on the road.

Be sure to keep the tips as low as possible so they don't get snagged by overhanging brush or branches. In my canoe they are all below the foredeck.

I usually lay them on the bench seats within arms reach.I only carry three to cut down on clutter.

Nice setup.  However, I am a bit disturbed by the large number of white flammable containers in the background????  Maybe I should alert the mods to contact the FBI????      Not planning on flying any time soon are you??   : :-?

Heres my setup I put in my 1648 jon!

One of those on each side lets you take 8 rods, and If you bring RW on a trip he can show you haw to bring something like 30!
