Does anyone know the dimensions for the OD on this particular tee?  I thought about trying to find a brass tee to replace or would that be overkill?

I’m pretty sure all the fuel lines are 5/32” so that would be the od.

On my Merc 40 hp outboard the fuel lines are 3/8" from the tank, marked right on the hose...inside the engine, connecting the carbs appears to be 5/16" as they are slightly smaller than tank hose. My last OMC 40 hp was a 5/16" fuel line from the tank, you may want to check those dimensions again.

I believe I am going to go a hose shop tomorrow and bring the hose with me.  I do believe there are two different size hoses on mine.  The ones that go to the actual carbs are a stiff hard plastic hose which I will probably replace with a better fuel hose and the main one is a little larger if I'm not mistaking.  I just hate to buy them online and then get them and not be the correct size even though the listing is for that size.  When I get them I will post back, ty

 

I hate to buy stuff on line when fit is critical...a couple extra dollars is well worth haveing the correct fit !!

Looks like the size coming from the carb to tees was 4mm.  Took the hose with me and could not find any 5/32 barb tees.  Found 1/8 and 3/16 and the 1/8 fit better than the 3/16 I thought.  Putting a small zip tie on the hose should prevent it from slipping off, although it did fit "snug" anyway.

Are these fuel lines or vacuum lines?  Can't say I have saw fuel lines that small on bigger outboards...

LOL, man I would say you are right on that, did not even occur to me when I said fuel lines.  These are the small lines going to the carbs.  Here is a screenshot, part number 43 is the tee and the hose was 50, 45, 67, 44, but on my boat all was the same.

 

This week has been busy to say the least, had a server go down which had multiple VM's housed.

Cant tell from your diagram but still sounds way to small for a fuel line.  I would check your setup closely to see if they are really vacuum lines.

This is probably the oem size, although mine was 3/16".  Replaced the plastic t-connectors with brass t-barb connectors last night and new hose.  Verified no leaks and everything seems good so far.

Primer recirculation hose, didn't think about that, my mind was in the main fuel line....never to old to learn!

Ahh, I've done the same thing before myself.  Now I'm just trying to decide if I want to try and learn to set the timing or just take it to a marine shop here and have them do it.  I would like to learn how though, much rather learn than having to depend on someone else for everything
