Spinnerbait Tip

Featured Replies

I thought I would share one of my spinnerbaits alterations since I needed to repair one.  And just to be clear, I don't fish a spinnerbait as often as I should but when I do I usually bang one up pretty good.

This blade was losing paint on one side. To fix this, I had to dive deep into my wife's nail polish box. I try to match a bait that I know catches fish. For this tip, it's a Senko in smoke/ black blue chartreuse. I have used the same polish before on a crankbait and it's pretty killer. I use my wife's Sally Hansen clear gels. The key is to paint only one side with glitter. It's crazy but it works.

Works good. I paint silver blades with clear polish/rainbow flake a lot. Walmart always seems to have some on clearance and dollar twenty five tree usually has some good colors. Spinnerbaits, crankbaits, jigs, weights. I'll use nail polish on all of them.
