Daiwa Zillion question

Featured Replies

I played with the spool tensioner knob on my new Zillion, before learning it's factory set. Any advice on how to get it back as close as possible to factory specs?

Just treat it like a normal one now.

They don't really come factory set. If you want to use the reel as Daiwa intended then you should set the spool tension knob so there is the tiniest bit of wiggle from the spool if you try to move it with your fingers. This should have you set up perfectly if you wish to use their "zero adjust technology"

I adjust all my zero adjust reels. Once I get them set how I want them I don't normally have to mess with them much but I like my spool tension looser than it comes from the factory.

You're not an idiot, but the Zillion is the most idiot proof reel I could imagine.

Don't worry about it, all the above replies nailed it.

Set it for a smidge of side to side play.  Also do this for all of your reels and now they are all zero adjust.  "Zero adjuster" is just the hard to turn knob you adjust zero number of times.  It's not a new innovation.

I do this, but I have the button pushed down to free spool first.
