Motor is a 1990.. Lookin for a used one or if anyone knows where I could get one cheap.. Heard it doesn't matter what pitch or whatver on a 1990 40hp Merc..

It does matter what pitch you have. I have a 15" and a 17" pitch prop for my 40HP. My boat can not get out of its own way with the 17" with more than one person. With the 15" it is a different boat.

what hub size? I might have one actually. Its a high pitch. It would be cheap too!!

Not sure what the pitch of mine is.. the numbers on the prop are very difficult to read..

Yea it makes big difference,have a quicksilver 14p on my 40 and get 32mph on16ft. tracker, and its out of the hole rat now.
