The best reel under $100

Featured Replies

I'll be in the market for some reels soon and was just wondering what is your most durable reel for under $100

Thanks

Captain Obvious:

Thanks for your recent post.  I'm assuming you're talking about a baitcasting reel.  In my opinion, the Allysa XLT baitcaster is the best performing, most durable reel we offer within that price range.  It's smooth, casts exceptionally well, has an excellent drag and can take a beating.  For the money...hard to beat.  MSRP for this reel is around $119, but you should be able to buy one for around $100 at sporting goods chains like Academy.   You also can't go wrong with Pinnacle's Pro XLT or Matrix X models which retail for about $20 less.

Thanks I'll take a look at them

Bass Pro Shops Pro Qualifier reel, BY FAR.

And the Pinnacles are nice for the price, too. But if you worked for them, you'd be recommending them too!  ;D

Since he asked in the Pinnacle Forum, I am pretty sure he was asking which Pinnacle reel is the best for under $100.

Yep, he was.

And I'd have to second that Alyssa XLT suggestion. That looks like one solid reel for $100 roughly.  Come to think of it, I don't know what the pricing is on the other models but Pinnacle has some really nice looking reels out there now.  Their Vision series is looking good to me as well.

I would love to switch all my reels to the alyssa reels!  Those things look as good as any abu I have held, and maybe even some quantums.  I just can't afford it, being a new dad, and just buying another car.  lol  I wish I could, after seeing that!  They are amazing!
