I have the boonedox landing gear. It works well but I recommend buying a cheap plastic cutting board, cut out some pieces as big as will fit inside and out to help distribute the stress that the weight puts on the plastic. They come with plates but eventually the metal plates will start stress cracks. The addition of the bigger surface area of the plastic will prolong that. I’ve seen it first hand. Alternatively of course is a cart…. But boonedoxe is so convenient.

Yeah I use a cart 99% of the time even though I have a trailer.  It is easier to take it off the trailer and load it up and take it down the ramp and allows me to launch off to the side usually as well.

Like others have said, weld it. It's easy and jus takes a little time. I welded several bolt holes that didn't match up with new foot braces I installed. It's pretty easy and I have no problems with the repair. Being that your hole is on the very bottom of the hull, I would want a a more substantial repair so I would weld it and then cover the weld with G/flex 650 Toughened Epoxy.

 

I don't know if this applies to you but I see many yakers just drag their yaks from their vehicles down to the launch site. Instead, use a cart. It's easier and it won't wear away your hull making it more susceptible to punctures.

All good advice - thank you. I was dragging it when I punctured it... so... yeah learning experience...
