Just got back from fishing tidal water for the first time which was challenging.

The water was so stained it threw me off my game plan.......no finesse.

 

Managed 1 largemouth bass on a June bug Senko and everything else was small Stripers and large shiners on Spinnerbaits.

 

If you ever fish the lower James river be careful of the vast amount of shallow water during a falling tide.

Had to kill the engine several times and trim the motor and navigate for hours with the trolling motor.

What surprised me the most, saw only a handful of boats the 2 days that I fished.

Gosh, that sounds tough. 

I have never fished tidal water but I do fish the upper James River on Table Rock Lake in Missouri.  The visibility is less than 2’.  Typically a few early ones on a spinnerbait then shaky for most of the day.

Tide movement or lack thereof is more important than water clarity.
