Sweet beaver chatterbait trailer

Featured Replies

Does anyone use the reaction innovations sweet beaver as a chatterbait trailer? I have tons of em I don’t use and wanted to give it a go. Do you guys rig it horizontally or vertically (on its side)?

I use a SK Rage Bug on my chatterbaits, but any creature bait like that should work, i rig mine on its side to imitate bluegills, and i rig it flat when fishing it around wood.

Yep. I rig it flat and fish it like a jig on rock structure. Deadly technique at night.

Hello. I definitely rig it horizontally. I love rigging it this way as the size/ width of the beaver gives the chatterbait a nice smooth displacement of water on the retrieve and seems to keep the lure level. Those big CB hooks are snaggy at times so this gives the bait a leveler profile with nice kicking appendages. Try adding a touch of super glue to the front of beaver and CB shaft so you can save plastics. And again, rigging it flat like this seems to give the lure more versatility fishing it deep or shallow. Side note: I’ve been using dip-and-glo on my beaver tentacles and they look awesome. ✌️

When I first got into bass fishing, a Sweet Beaver was my trailer for just about everything. Even though my go to now is a RI Skinny Dipper, I will put on a SB when I want that craw presentation.
