Featured Replies

See if anyone can inform me of another choice than these.I am looking for a

5' ultralight spinning rod to play with bream in small creeks.First and no offense

here,i do not like the st croix avid or premier in this rod.I have looked at the loomis

sr6010 in all three graphites, the gl2 having sliding rings put me off a little because

of this.Is there any other higher end rod line that i'm missing?

do yoursef a favor.  get ReelMech or Flechero to BUILD you one!

i wanted a GOOD 7 foot ultra lite rod & couldn't find one.  so, i got me a CTS blank & built it.  it is just Fan-Tastic.  http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1154829795

with a custom build, you get Exactly what you want, built Just For You!  Give it a thought!

I've had my IMX SR6010 for going on twelve years, best 5' ultralight I've used.  I've used most everything in the 5' range, including the cheaper Quantums, Fenwick, Garcia (that dates me), and Orvis (glass, graphite, and bamboo) rods.  The IMX has the #18 handle which has a locking reel seat (I hate sliding rings on spinning and fly rods).  There is also a 5' GL3 two piece version that feels a little slower and is equipped with the same locking reel seat as the IMX version.  The GL3 SR541 (4'6") also has the locking reel seat and is a bit crisper in action than the 5'.

I just bought the SJR720 for larger streams.  It will flick a 1/16 ounce inline a mile, but has significant backbone for larger inlines heavier water and bigger fish.

Tight lines,

JB what ever happened to the T&T you had on smallstreams board? :-?

I decided to keep the LPS 603 and the Ross Rhythm that I had for sale.  There are a few local streams that are better suited for fly presentations.

Get an Eagleclaw.

You gotta hope after 17-1/2 years, the problem has been solved.

But in 2006, Eagle Claw was the correct answer.

Maybe the most spectacular revival of a thread I’ve ever witnessed 😂🤣😂
