Rebellion Rods

Featured Replies

Looking for some input on a particular model, the 7"3 MHF. I have the 7'3 H,  I like it for heavy jigs or frogs,  but it has a really thick diameter blank(which I don't love)considerably thicker than other heavy casting rods I have handled. I thought they sent me a glass rod by accident when I got it. It is sensitive and I do enjoy using it. I absolutely love my rebellion 7ft ML spinning rod for finesse applications. If anyone owns the 7'3 MHF casting, whats your opinion on the rods sensitivity, what application do you feel it's best at and do you find the blank to be a thicker diameter than other MH casting rods? Im looking to use it as a bottom contact rod for jigs. Thanks in advance.

I have the 73MH. I also thought I got a glass rod when It came in. The butt section is as big around as my thumb.
With that said I’ve probably caught more fish with It than any other setup I own. I use It for weightless Texas rig senkos and It does great.
However you can tell a big difference in comfort and weight when I pick It up after using some of my lighter thinner rods.

Any rods at a similar price point that are more comfortable, sensitive and lighter?

St Croix Victory...I've got a 7'3" H/MF that I use for jigs and moderate-cover pitching that's lighter than my Fury 703C.

Discounted Dobyns Champ 684c

Expride 72MH (got mine for $120)

Yeah I have the 7’3” HF Rebellion as well and hated how thick it was at first. Got used to it and actually find it comfortable to hold. I’m guessing the thick blank has something to do with the HVF construction but I could be wrong. My BLX 7’2” HF is the same way.

7’3” HXF St. Croix Victory would make a great rod for bottom contact. I have the same model in the LTB series and it is great. More like a MHF but it has a ton of backbone.

You could also get a Tatula elite. They have pretty thin blanks on them.

Dobyns Kaden/Sierra/Champion and Shimano Zodias are also really good rod lines
