I posted this a few years ago and felt it might be helpful to share again.

 

Hollow core lead comes in 3/16 or 1/4 diameter.  It has several applications.  You can cut to length as a crimp-on drop shot weight.  It stays attached well but if wedged in rocks, will slide off. 
 

It makes a great finesse Carolina weight when fishing for brown bass or spots.
 

You can also fish a dragging rig by tying a long leader to a barrel swivel with a 3 inch dropper and crimp the HC to the dropper.

 

Finally, use it as the weight as in split shotting.  A roll will last a life time. It
