trailer length increasing

I've never had an issue with mine until this season.  Other than replacing some bunk carpet.

 

I don't know for sure, but I think the support of that front beam is now welded directly to the frame of the trailer.  As you can see, mine is attached via a pair of u-bolts.

I've completed the repair on this issue I encountered in October.

 

I took the support off and took it to a welding shop.  They polished off all the surface rust, re-welded the support beam to the flat portion, and then painted it black with an extreme paint.

 

I replaced one of the u-bolts with a new one and then put the beam back on the trailer yesterday.  I'll make sure to keep a closer eye on this moving forward and also make sure that the beam doesn't slide back.
