I had bought 15lb power pro which is equivalent to 4lb mono, and it casted the same distance as the 8lb mono I was using. The bought sufix 832 in 10lb which then again, casted the same distance? I'm looking at Berkely x9 which seems significantly thinner than both in 10lb test. Might it help me get some more casting distance?

I'll try once again. Earlier in this thread, I recommended that you take a look at Varivas Max Power PE x8 16.7lb. Placed right next to Power Pro SS V2 15lb the Varivas looks and feels more like 1lb mono equivalent if you can imagine such a thing. It's ultra-thin, yet very strong. Where the 15 lb PP chokes off casts with standard 1/15 oz TRD NEDS on a 3000 sized reel, the Varivas in this lb rating simply lets them fly. All credit goes to @bulldog1935 for pointing me in the direction of this product. It made me not hate spinning gear any longer.

There are other options out there in super thread line Japanese X braids like YGK. Search some of his postings here on BR for further info. He's had a lot to say about them.

Suffix 131 is supposed to cast really far because it's 13 strand and ultra smooth.i personally would be nervous fishing line as thin as some of these guys do.to many rocks and things where I fish.

I'll try it someday. I would happily buy it, but to the high disapproval of everyone around me lol. "Dude you've switched that line out three times this month stop" is what I've heard. But I will remember that. So far, the 10lb Sufix works great. As it turns out, line works best when it is ran through all the guides. Forgot that the first time.
