Where’d the Bass go?

Featured Replies

Hello. I live in Rio Vista California on the Sacramento delta. There is a Very Special place (we all know one of those “places”).. Fishing this summer was great but anyone have a theory on why this kind of spot would all of a sudden go quiet. Dead quit. The only thing I saw were some small shad flickering on the surface tonight.
One more thought to note, I noticed the fish gradually got smaller at my “spot”. So that’s part of the puzzle as well?

Thanks for any input.

All possible response’s……

OP, consider these….

*Just not feeding

*They weren’t where you were

*You did something to spook them

*You got a light hit and didn’t react fast enough

*You got hits and didn’t know it

etc

etc

Hi Mike, thank you for you input. I’m thinking you’re right..they just left for a while to chase shad. Because this spot is one of those magical places that has everything a bass needs except for a tv. Oh well guess we’ll never be able to totally figure these guys out 🤷‍♂️

Fall transition?  Catching most of my fish on jigging spoons over 30 - 40 FOW by casting and slowly reeling it.

It’s Delta a tidal river with lots of room for bass to locate as conditions favorable for them. It’s all about timing and population density at the time you are there.

Broaden your locations in lieu of pounding the same spot all the time expecting the same results.

the Delta has been daunting for me this year.  janky weird weather with late springs, and cold snaps..and even some odd rain storms.

nutty.
