Daiwa bg issue

Featured Replies

Spooled up my 2500 bg with 15lb power pro. Went out fishing and when fishing a senko or any other slack line technique the line would bunch up loosely at the bottom of the spool. The reels line lay is perfect when spooling or retrieving a lure in steadily. How do you prevent this?

Gravity is your friend.

Let it help you.

Point the rod at the water and not 'up',

while you are taking up slack line.

In this scenario, I totally agree.

In ALL other scenarios concerning my body, I respectfully disagree.....👴🏻

My habit with loose line using a spinning reel is running the line pinched between my index finger and thumb pad held close to the 1st large guide putting a little tension on the line as you wined the loose line back on the reel.

Never happened with any other reel

I fish braid on spinning as well and rarely happens on any of these rigs either.

Not using Power Pro however.

Ya...I avoid Power Pro now - my spinning reels have Seaguar Smackdown, Sufix 832 or Yo-Zuri Superbraid...no issues like that with any of them.

Yep...rod-tip level with the water...jerk to the side, not up.

Maybe because the power pro is a stiffer braid?

Not sure.

I stopped using it once started bleeding green onto everything.
