is there any braid out that doesnt need backing i got some durabraid and looks and feels like it wouldnt slip but i never used braid ever always use flouro for flipping but built a point blank 7'6 xxhf rod and looking to throw in heavey lily pads i need as much thick line as possible thats why i ask about backing and the slippage if you dont

There are ways of spooling braid where you don't need backing.

 

Couple turns, then a piece of tape across the line

Tie through the holes in the spool instead of around the whole spool

 

I still like backing - all my spools are standard size so even my flipping reel has about 80yds of mono-backing giving me 60yds of 50# braid...which is more than sufficient around here.

The use of backing isn’t used just to keep slick braid from slipping.
I suggest you use it anyway as you don’t need a full spool of anything for a dedicated flipping outfit. 
 

I have 2 flipping/pitching combos, one with 65# and the other with 80# and probably haven’t seen more than 25yds of mainline in 5 yrs.

Messy electrical tape gets touted for this job, 

but I've found thin mylar-film PE/acrylic tape does this job even better.  

Tie a normal arbor knot and lay a square of mylar film tape over the line and spool - it's stuck.  When you take it up, again, it leaves zero residue. 

 

Adding a ps about PE/acrylic tape - this stuff is so strong, I use for seizing knots on kayak trolley line, and the tape lasts as long as the double-braid sailcord.  

Although I don’t use a lot of backing for my reels as I only have 2 dedicated braid outfits I’m horrible at tying arbor knots but when I do re spool my reels I’ve found this tape laid over my arbor knots works well as it gives the line something extra to grip into and cinches the tape down real well and it doesn’t leave a sticky mess when I remove it.
