River 2 Sea V-Joint MInnow

i really like the looks of this small, inexpensive swimbait (it IS a swimbait, despite what you say, i found it filed under swimbait category :P). its in my budget, its small enough to fish on regular gear, and if you watch the video, its got some crazy go nuts action. i'd get it in ghost minnow or chartruse shad. i think it would be a success lure, what do you guys think? http://www.***.com/descpageSWIMRIVER-R2SVM.html#

just because TW lists it as a swimbait doesn't make it so  ;D

anyways, I have a couple of the 4" (firetiger/perch pattern) and I've caught some smallies with them.  They have a real "snaky" swimming motion.

They are a great bait.  They are basically a copy of a Jackall Bait, the Mikey Jr.  They are a shallow, sub surface/surface bait.  I do really well with these over submerged grass.

I plan to add these and several other River 2 Sea baits this winter for next year.

They are not a swimmbaits nor are they a subsurface lure. There are deep runners ( 8') and shallow runners (4'). This lure is in fact a suspending jerkbait. They come in 3 sizes: 75, 95 and 110. (in Europe)

The Jackall Mickey Jr. is a wake bait and can not be compared with the River2Sea V-Joint.

There is a shallow, subsurface version called River2Sea V-Joint Wake Minnow.

Man ,you are a  lure encyclopedia  :P

I had the largest version of the River2Sea V-Joint Wake Minnow and I busted it on a dock this last January.  I'm not saying it's cheap though, lures are ment to land on water, not rocks.  Looked great but never caught anything on it.

yea thats how i broke my lucky craft live pointer. i was so pi--ed/sad at the same time! :-/ they sent me a new one though. i really would like one of these lures, but its not the price that bothers me, its the shipping. the shipping charge at TW is almost as much as the freaking lure!!!!! i'll have to search around for some better prices.

Save up some money a make a larger order. It's not worth it ordering just one lure.

You won 't get better prices and even if you do the shipping charges eat away what you saved if you purchase only one lure, however Tackle Warehouse gives you free shipping if your order exceeds 50 dollars, 50 dollars is not that much, some lures, some worms and some hooks and you fill that 50 dollars limit easily.

Sorry T, I did not look at the link.

Still, same type of bait, just slightly deeper.

And R2S will have a surface model out for 2008, if not sooner.

Exactly.

The problem for me is, I want one thing, but use it as an excuse to order 20 other things. Instead of paying $10 I pay $100.. Grrrr!

what other swimbaits are comparable at around $8? Anyone fished the Megabait Charlie? Castiac? Reaction strike? Looking for swimbaits under 1.5oz, $10.

i have one of the smallest charlies, doesnt swim right, sucks.

Ok, i'll write that one off.

Castaic SBTs are good ( even though if you rub them a little the paint comes off  :P  ), don 't bother purchasing the smaller ones ( 4" ), 6 inchers are a little above 1 1/2 oz, internal head Optimums are also good.
