Berkley Nessie 5" Question

Featured Replies

Bought a couple of the Nessie 5" in a couple colors for power BFS fishing. I haven't used them yet, but I hear they are slow sinking.

I'd like to rig one up to sink just a bit faster and thinking of using a 1/16oz tungsten nail weight. Where I'm perplexed with the nail weight is the location I should insert nail weight. I'd prefer a nose down or horizontal fall, just not sure on the Nessie 5" body to place the nail weight.

Any ideas or thoughts on this dilemma?

I’d put it in the front section midway between the hook hanger and the joint as low and parallel to the belly as possible. Good luck

Hi Volfan, ah ok, I see where you're getting at. I'll give it a shot. Thank you

SMB love this thing (5") BUT hookup ratio is horrible, its a shallow water bait, claims slow sink but its basically buoyant on 15# coploy.  Already lost a left eye on it, with that said bait has potential with modifications.  Going to try 12# floro and maybe a larger hook, which will help it sink.
