Susky weekend

I headed out on the susky both days this weekend. On Saturday I went with my dad who is recovering from kidney cancer. It was the first time I got to fish with him this year. Actually ahead of schedule. Sunday I went with a buddy.

the pattern for both days was pretty much the same. Burning crank baits smashing them into rocks. My dad did get some on ned  rigs too.  Both trips were about 3-4 hours.  I’d say for the weekend a total of 40ish fish were boated. Nothing crazy. My buddy did however get a rare large mouth.IMG_2024-04-22-042414.jpeg.823ddd35eec4f70caf76a2ee644b1211.jpegIMG_2024-04-22-042324.jpeg.96a5cad9cf5cbcacecd8b8235f3e296b.jpegIMG_2024-04-22-042302.jpeg.33a0690a7b790b2f618b226e767dd13d.jpegIMG_2024-04-22-042352.jpeg.b018ccf16319244daaea81971f71f0ed.jpeg

Sounds like a great weekend. I’ll bet that trip with your dad was really therapeutic for both of you. I know my first smallie trip after my cancer surgery was a big highlight for me.

I think it was a great trip. Dad, bass, buddy, river, and great weather. Well done!
