I just got my new bps extreme woo daves rod in today. I got one, but returned it since it was a gift, and the wrong power. (MH v M) So i returned the MH and got the M. It is paired up with a pflueger president spinning reel, which i plan to spool up with camo green yo-zuri hybrid 6 lb. test. Now i must say that this rod is nice! Fairly light, super active tip, firm yet forgiving, and it has a really comfortable grip. Now this thing isnt perfect. For one, the rod seems to have a really long butt. I got the 7' one piece, and personnally dont mind it too much, but it seems odd that a Medium power rod would have such a long butt. Something i noticed is that it has a super thick and stocky blank on the bottom, but is super thin at the top, this is a plus, tons of backbone and sensitivity. Anyways, cant wait to get the balancing kit for it, i can put that in my bionic blade too.

If you're going to buy a balancing kit from BPS, skip the XPS one and get the other one they sell for around half the price.  

My 7', Kistler LTA Heliums have a long handle too but I like it.  It lies along the bottom of my forearm and makes for a great 'connection' to my casting/playing arm plus, I like the room for two hands when casting.  I think you'll get use to it .

Thats a great combo, the 7'M WooDaves extreme spinning rod w/ a Plueger President 6735x is my main weightless soft plastic rig. Beware........ once you put that balancing kit on it you'll want to do to all your rods ;D

I wouldn'y buy the other one (I have both and the XPS screws in and is much much better).  I balanced one rod and loved it so much, now everyone on my rods are balance.  Really increases the sensitivity of the rod IMO.

i have to agree with cart 7.the screw in one comes loose and is fragile and can be broken off.the rubber butt cap one they sell doesn't loosen and puts less stress on the butt of the rod because it slidews over it which helps support it.the screw in hangs off the back.

I've had the slide on ones come off on me while casting (I like to cast with two hands) and found it to be a pain.  The screw in ones do come loose sometimes, but it's easier to tighten a screw then it is picking up butt cap weights and quarters (which you can also use in the slide on rubber cap) on the bottom of the boat.

I also posted this in the "flea market" section but I have a brand new, still in box, BPS XPS balancing kit that I have no use for. I have G Loomis rods and obviously, the balancing kit doesnt fit. I will be more than happy to GIVE this away to anyone who wants it................ ;D

you can also use an O ring on the screw in ones, it helps.

Crazy glue or even RTV would help hold in place and wouldn't be permanent
