I use or have used Mono, Fluoro, Copoly, and Braid to leader.  I have never used straight braid on any of my setups.

Not that I have anything against it, I’ve just always thought of it as something that you use where the vegetation is super gnarly and the bass are 6+ lbs. Neither of which really describes my situation most of the time.

Who knows maybe I’ll give it a try one day.

My argument for people being worried about the fish seeing the braid has always been that the fish can see the hook, yet still bite. It’s much more visible than the line ever will be, and it’s where they’re focused. If they can’t see a silver shiny thing that is 10x the thickness of the line, I don’t think the line is an issue.

When I was mostly float fishing rivers, I'd never use braid without a leader because the braid was too hard to break off and I didn't want to snap a pole in current.  I had to deal with leader knots and I've had problems small diameter braid and wind knots so pretty much gave up on braid over the last few years.  I may spool one reel up with straight braid and no leader and give it a shot lake fishing this year though.

Straight braid on all my rods, baitcaster and spinning. I’ve never used any mono or fluorocarbon leaders. It’s not perfect (nothing is) but the drawbacks bother me much less than line that stretches or extra knots in my line.
