I have a chance to pick an older Pflueger reel . It has never been used. The price is fifty dollars . I was wondering if anyone has any experience with it. Also I was wondering if I should do any mods to it ? I will be using it for small mouth and occasional trout fishing on cape cod .

That's not a good or bad price for that reel.

A brand new Trion is $49.95. Pre owned I wouldn’t pay more than $30.-$35  even unused.

I agree

Is this a spinning reel or a baitcaster? If it's a spinning reel, $50 is the new price. I don't have any experience with the Trion baitcasters.
