Humminbird ICast Let Down

Featured Replies

Was anyone one else disappointed in the lack of HB release at iCast24?  Megalive was onsale 33% off this spring, which made me think something new was in the works.  What do you think that sale was all about?  Was there a hardware update and they were trying to clear out the old stock?

Humminbird definitely needs a major Mega Live update to catch up to the competition.  If mine died today I would not replace it with the existing version.  I would wait for an update.   I'm sure I'm not the only person that feels this way.

yeah, I'd agree with that. I've done all of the updates to my head unit and firmware to the megalive.  Its not as good as the others for sure.  But I'm invested in HB so will stick with it.  I just wouldn't buy another of the same.

The sales earlier this year were probably due to inventory levels.  I am a little surprised that they didn't come with a little more mega live improvement.  Even if it isn't hardware, the software probably has some more tweaking available.

If anything stands the test of time, it's the absolute guarantee the electronic companies will always introduce new stuff every year, if not several times per year.  It's a sure thing.

I wouldn't be too concerned about HB.  I'm sure something from them will debut soon.

Humminbird has not historically launched new products at ICast. There is definitely something new coming and it’s not what you think.

The solix gen 3s will be 4 years old this october. So they are due for an update which would make sense the new FFS would drive the hardware requirements.
