I see mentions here of casting accuracy and agree that's important. But another important part of casting is how you land the bait, especially when you want that bait to enter the water quietly and not spook the fish.

I don't know if this is a specific technique, but finding fish, if they ain't there it doesn't matter what you throw.

I think there are always some fish on the shore line.

But finding what cover there using or feature of the shore you can concentrate on those.

Weed lines, are they on the inside or outside edge, or buried in them.

Current seams in river systems, and eddies.

What depth are you finding them in and the list is endless but to me that's what makes it fun (sometimes)

What I bring with me covers surface, sub-surface, mid-depth and bottom, of course the ole monkey knows that there are thousands of techniques and lures that can cover all the bases 🐵
