Are there any good alternatives to the Roboworm/Gamakatsu rebarb hook? They aren't the easiest hook for me to source so I was hoping to find a few  popular alternative. I've taken to the drop shot this year and I'd like the option to "cover shot" (another hook I can't seem to find) a 6" worm. Should I just try a 1 or 1/0 EWG?

I love the Mustad alpha grip finesse. Sticky sharp 1x forged hook, epoxied eye, bent metal keeper, an o'shaughnessy hook shape/gap that stays crazy glued to fish, and very strong. Easily the best soft plastics hook I've ever come across, perfect for finesse rigging with spinning or casting gear; weedless dropshot, split shot, and mojo rigging.

Thanks for the reply. That hook looks perfect for what I'm trying to accomplish. 

I sometimes just buy the normal straight shank gamakatsu hooks and make my own keepers with shrink wrap to mimic the roboshot ones. 

That's interesting. Anything more that just placing a piece a heat shrink near the eye? 

I made rebarbs  for awhile using 1/16 shrink sleeve cut 1/2 long then cutting 1/2” piece in half at 45 angle. The 45 angle cut faces the hook eye about 1/8 below it. Heat shrink onto hook shank.

 

Now I use a rubber Peg-It through the hook eye and cut the ends off about 1/16 to 1/8” depending on worm diameter. Holds the worm firm to the hook.

For straight shank on skinny worms its hard to beat an Owner Cover Shot.  That Oshaughnessy bend is perfect for thinner baits like roboworms.  The mono loop is great too, it doesnt beat bait up as bad as a wire or tin keeper.  When I tie my own keepers that's generally the style I use.   

Great suggestions offered above with the Mustad and Owner offerings , also consider the VMC Finesse Neko hooks .
